Jennifer has been trained in Chinese, Japanese and Korean style acupuncture, each varies in terms of needling techniques, depth of insertion and choice of points indicated for specific conditions.
She continues to learn from the masters in the field of acupuncture. She practices Tan/Tung style of acupuncture, which is needling away from the areas of pain. She has also learned the Balance Method along with Traditional Chinese Medicine and Electro-acupuncture Medicine (EAM).
She has received specialized training in the treatment of eye conditions, such as Macular Degeneration and Retinitis Pigmentosa.
One of her specialties is also fertility. She is Board Certified as a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (FABORM).
As with all styles, the ability of the patient to practice self-care while undergoing acupuncture treatment can have tremendous, positive effects on the outcome. Along with needles, electric stimulation, tui na, cupping or gua sha may be used in a particular treatment depending on the treatment strategy.
